Have you ever noticed drivers seem uncertain if they should be stopping for a School Bus on a 4 lane road, what is the exact rule? According to the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles you are required to stop on a 4 lane road, unless the driver of a vehicle is on a divided highway with an unpaved space of at least 5 feet, a raised median, or a physical barrier. Then you are not required to stop when traveling in the opposite direction of a school bus which is stopped.
